2 way high pressure hydraulic ball valve is a switch valve. The two-way ball valve controls the flow of liquid or gaseous media by rotating the ball, stem and orifice. The ball valve is also a quarter-turn valve that can be used where quick and frequent operations are required. Traditional ball valves have relatively poor throttling characteristics because the exposed seat corrodes rapidly in the partially open or closed position.
1. What are the advantages of the two-way ball valve?

3. What are the different housing components for a 2-way ball valve?
There are 3 common designs - 1 piece, 2 piece or 3 piece housing - which affect how the valve is assembled and maintained. One-piece valves cannot be disassembled for maintenance. This is the cheapest variant and is usually used for less demanding applications. The two-piece valve is removable for maintenance and inspection. The valve must be completely removed from the pipe to separate the two components. Three-piece valves are the most expensive variant because the valve can be serviced without having to completely remove the entire valve from the pipe.
4. What are the different ball types?
Depending on how the ball is supported, there is a floating ball design or a trunnion ball design. In the floating ball design, the ball is fixed between the seats. It is used on Class 150 and Class 300 small bore valves (up to 6"). In the trunnion ball design, the ball is supported below the ball. Class 150 and Class 300 valves 8" and above are usually specified with a trunnion mount ball design. Class 600 and above rated valves are typically trunnion mounted designs in sizes 1 1/2" and above.
5. How to use the two-way ball valve effectively and safely?
2 way high pressure hydraulic ball valve is best suited for low pressure applications to prevent hydraulic shock (water hammer). The 2-way ball valve can close faster due to the quarter-turn valve. A sudden shut-off of the medium can cause a pressure surge, producing a noise similar to a pipe being struck with a hammer (water hammer). This powerful water hammer can rupture the system and cause leaks. To reduce the effects of water hammer, various safety devices such as expansion tanks, accumulators and discharge valves can be installed. If the valve is used in high pressure gas service, use an explosive relief o-ring. When using ordinary elastomer O-rings, gas may be absorbed into the molecular structure. If the valve is suddenly depressurized, the gas will expand rapidly and may damage the O-ring. To eliminate this possibility, special o-rings or lip seals suitable for such service conditions can be used. Where a fire rated design is required, the valve will be labeled "fire rated" according to one of the following specifications: ISO 10497, BS 6755-2, API 607 or API 6FA. Two-way ball valves can also fail. The valve does not seal completely due to damaged seals, or the valve cannot move due to debris clogging the valve.
